Joint internships, research and professional development programmes were also identified as areas of cooperation.
A memorandum of cooperation and an action plan were signed with the China International Culture Exchange Center. The documents set out joint initiatives to support children and people with disabilities, create barrier-free environments, develop the Najot centre and a multifunctional centre, and build specialists’ skills.
The ceremony attended by Naji Benhassine, World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia, was dedicated to a project supported by the Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF). The project plans to support at least 4,000 women in need of social protection, help create 1,000 jobs and award grants for entrepreneurial initiatives.
The practical value of these agreements lies in directing international experience and resources towards quality social services, targeted assistance and new opportunities for people in need to live independently.
