Samarkand Hosts a Major International Forum: Preparations for the World Summit on Investing in Children’s Wellbeing in Full Swing

On 21 October, the ancient and ever-young city of Samarkand will host the World Summit on Investing in Children’s Wellbeing.

This prestigious forum will bring together government representatives, ministers and heads of leading international organisations from more than 100 countries. The facilities to be shown to international delegations are currently being inspected for readiness.

Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, First Deputy Director of the National Agency for Social Protection:

For Uzbekistan, this is an opportunity to showcase the results we have achieved in social protection and to join forces with international partners for the wellbeing of children.
I am confident that every country has its own experience in this area, but every child has the right to care and protection, as well as to realise their potential.

Bringing together representatives of more than 100 countries, the Summit will create an international platform for sharing experience and discussing effective solutions in the most important areas of ensuring children’s wellbeing.
