Ahead of the international Summit on Investing in Children’s Wellbeing, to be held in Samarkand on 21–22 October, volunteers are also busy preparing.
Nearly 300 volunteers have been mobilised to give a fitting welcome to guests from more than 100 countries, to accompany them and to introduce them to Uzbekistan’s rich culture and historical monuments.
A separate group of volunteers has been formed to work with international participants, and they are already actively involved in the organisational work ahead of the Summit.
Their task is not simply to greet the guests. Making every participant comfortable, helping them find their way and leaving a warm impression of Uzbekistan are also the volunteers’ responsibility.
