The World Summit “Investing in Children’s Wellbeing: A Pathway to Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations” has now opened in Samarkand.
The Summit, which is expected to bring together representatives of more than 100 countries, is dedicated to discussing the solutions needed for children to grow up healthy and safe, in decent conditions.
The event, taking place on 21–22 October, will focus on social protection, healthcare, early development, inclusive education and comprehensive support for children and families.
The main thrust of the discussions is turning investment in children’s wellbeing into concrete opportunities in their everyday lives. For every child, this means quality education, the medical care they need, protection from violence and equal conditions for development.
The Summit serves as a platform for states and international organisations to share experience, discuss effective approaches and strengthen cooperation in the interests of children.
