If we know that change is possible, why would we not act?

Ahead of the World Summit “Investing in Children’s Wellbeing: A Path to Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations”, held in Samarkand on 21–22 October, the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence Against Children, Najat Maalla M’jid, stressed the importance of further strengthening child protection systems in every country, making effective use of existing opportunities and moving to concrete practical action.

Behind this thought lies a simple but important truth: every child has the right to live in a safe environment, to be protected and to have a decent future.

The World Summit in Samarkand will unite states, international organizations and leading experts around this shared goal.
