Samarkand to become a global platform for dialogue on children’s future

On 21–22 October 2026, the World Summit titled “Investing in Children’s Wellbeing: A Path to Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations” will take place.

The Summit will bring together representatives from more than 100 countries — political leaders, ministers, international organizations, experts, business representatives, civil society, academia, as well as children and adolescents.

Today, children are among the groups bearing the heaviest consequences of global challenges — conflicts, climate change, economic instability and rising inequality.

The discussions will focus on directions that will shape the fate of future generations:

  • child-centered social protection
  • development of child protection and integrated support systems
  • accessible and sustainable healthcare systems
  • the fight against childhood cancer
  • collaborative solutions in early childhood development and inclusive education

The Summit will also host the II International Congress on Pediatric Oncology.

One of the key outcomes of the meeting will be the adoption of the Samarkand Declaration on Investing in Children’s Wellbeing — a call for concrete action and international cooperation.

Investing in children means investing in a sustainable, just and peaceful future.
